Great costumes, cheeky Vancouver jabs and a Dracula with serious moves make this Arts Club production a wickedly fun night out.
Funny, wonderfully theatrical and sprinkled with a few cheeky jabs at Vancouver, Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors is a must-go, even after Halloween. We loved the costumes, and wow, does this Dracula have the moves. Those facial expressions carried rows into the theatre.
Written by Gordon Greenberg and Steve Rosen and directed by Josh Epstein, the Arts Club production plays at the Lindsay Family Stage at Granville Island through November 15, 2026. This playful take on Bram Stoker’s gothic classic gives the familiar tale a decidedly cheeky makeover.
This Dracula Has the Moves
Synthia Yusuf plays Dracula, and the physical performance was a highlight for us, matched by facial expressions that could be appreciated from rows away. You didn’t need to be sitting up front to catch the joke.
There’s something particularly satisfying about a performance that makes such good use of the whole body, right down to the face. The movement and expressions are a big part of what makes this Dracula so much fun to watch.
Nicol Spinola is the production’s choreographer. The cast also includes Kate Besworth, Steffanie Davis, Jeff Meadows and Vincent Tong, with several performers taking on multiple roles.

Great Costumes and a Few Vancouver Jabs
The costumes are another highlight. Designed by Donnie Tejani, they add to the pleasure of a show that fully embraces its theatrical side. This is an evening to enjoy the dressing up, the big expressions and the sheer silliness of it all.
We also appreciated the local jabs at Vancouver. There’s nothing quite like watching a familiar gothic story unfold and suddenly finding your own city in the firing line. We’ll leave those jokes for you to discover.

A Must-Go, Even After Halloween
Halloween is an excellent excuse to book this comedy, but the costumes, physical humour and playful theatricality are reason enough to keep it on your November calendar.
We’re still wondering whether that baby’s first teeth will be suspiciously pointy. You’ll have to see the show to get that one.
Our verdict? A must-go. Take someone who could use a good laugh.
