Bittered-SlingJuly’s Bittered Sling Bistro features the huge portfolio of historically important spirits from Brown-Forman, including Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey and Woodford Reserve Bourbon.

Stepping up to the plate this month are two bartenders equally engaging when it comes to the history of cocktails and our industry – reigning BSBistro Season 1 & 2 winner, Gerry Jobe (currently the Okanagan Brand Ambassador for Jack Daniel’s and Woodford Reserve, formerly of Raudz Regional Table) steps up on July 10. On July 31, award-winning bartender and corporate beverage director from the Donnelly Group, Trevor Kallies (he’s also a manager for the Tales of the Cocktail Bartender Apprentice Program).

Early summer vegetables – raw, lightly heated and pickled with organic corn dumplings, Montaña cheese & tomato emulsion, watercress aioli and whiskey, smoked bacon & grand ?r vinaigrette

Buttermilk & whiskey brined chicken rolled with Indian celery & sweet fern pesto, hot chili, garlic & ginger collards, strawberry-gochujang & whiskey sauce

Tonka bean & whiskey cake, Osoyoos cherries, lavender cream, honey brittle & spice crumble

Format

– Passed Hors d’Oeuvres paired with opening reception cocktail by Lauren Mote;

– Sit-down three course dinner, menu presented by Chef Jonathan Chovancek of
Kale & Nori to both engage and challenge the guest bartender’s perspective on their
cocktail pairings;

– Each guest receives a scorecard, and rates each pairing through several categories, such as taste, balance, appearance, level of pairing;

– Interactive presentation style

– fun and business-casual- $60/tickets (this is inclusive of GST and service charge)

– tickets will not be available to purchase at the door, guests must purchase tickets online or in person at Legacy Liquor Store ahead of time
