Chefhyve Food Hall Opens on Kingsway
Today’s news, fresh from Instagram, Chefhyve, a food hall concept, is opening in East Vancouver at 2525 Kingsway. “Chefhyve is a bite-sized, gourmet food hall offering amazing local and international cuisines prepared in open kitchens by local chefs using only real ingredients. The first location (meaning there’s plans for more) features two red seal certified Chefs with more than 20 years of experience.”
Each menu is managed by a dedicated chef, where chefs are in full control of their kitchens and oversee their own teams, using seasonal ingredients.
From Mediterranean food and artisan salads to fish and chips and a variety of desserts, Chefhyve concepts will evolve as the chefs determine what diners may be craving next. Chef Chris Andrazo and Chef Leonardo Jacia are heading up Chefhyve, you’ll recognize Chef Andrazo’s name if you’ve ever been to Fanny Bay Oysters or been out on the town at the many events they’ve supported. Chef Andrazo’s Instagram alerted me of the concept: “Here we go again!!!! With every end comes a new beginning and what an amazingly unique opportunity I’ve landed. The first of what will be many mini food halls in Vancouver. One kitchen, multiple concepts shared by like-minded chefs. I want to thank @chefhyve for allowing me to spearhead this project with you and look forward to the amazing journey ahead. Come check us out this weekend for our opening!”
For now, there are Mediterranean bowls, and Fish and Chips are in the works. They are using only grade A chicken, sirloin steak, beef, and lamb and the meats are halal and kosher, with ingredients that are grown locally wherever possible. Chefhyve aims to support and inspire chefs to step out of their comfort zone and become a business partners rather than an employee. They’re giving chefs a chance to own a business without worrying about the cost of rent, equipment, customer transactions, software solutions, and pickup and delivery hassles. Any chef interested can reach out, Chefhyve wants to rally people to “join the chef revolution”.
There will be a dessert station with waffles and ice cream with all the fixings soon, I’m looking forward to that chocolate sauce they described to me.
Hours of operation 11-8:30 pm most days and are closed on Wednesdaay. Chefhyve.
