The meaty aromas coming from a strange looking tank-like fixture at the Winter Farmers Market is what first attracted me to the Chili Tank, but vegetarians fear not, there’s a veggie version too.   The tank is an actual military soup kitchen that was found in Germany and shipped to  Canada and can be heated with wood,propane or diesel.

The tank can be found at events around the Lower Mainland and will be at the Khatsahlano Music + Arts Festival serving up soups and chilis made with fresh, local produce.  The serving bowls and utensils are biodegradable and they use a green fire log made from coffee groups.  The baguettes that are served with the chilis and soups are from European Bread Bakery baguettes and there’s cheese, onions and sour cream if you desire to top the bowls.  I’m so tankful for this chili!  :o)
