The Chinese Restaurant Awards unites Hong Kong and Vancouver Chefs for an Unforgettable Dim Sum Celebration
The Chinese Restaurant Awards (CRA) is taking its 16th year global. On October 29, 2025, the awards will honour Chinese culinary excellence not only in Metro Vancouver, but across Canada and select international cities. To mark this milestone, the CRA will host a one-night-only Chinese Restaurant Awards Dim Sum Gala, presented by Scotia Wealth Management, in support of Regenerative Medicine and Inner Ear Therapeutics research at the new St. Paul’s Hospital.
Tickets are available now for this limited-seat event, which is part of Destination Vancouver’s Dine Out Festival – World Chef Exchange.
A Culinary Journey Through “Classic, Now, and Future” Dim Sum
The Dim Sum Gala begins with a reception and tasting experience, followed by a multi-course sit-down dinner crafted by master chefs and rising stars. Guests will experience three distinct interpretations of dim sum — Classic, Now, and Future — paired with premium wine and The Dalmore whiskies.

The evening will open with a live performance by Zhen Hua Sheng Cantonese Opera, celebrating the cultural roots of yum cha.
Bridging Tradition, Innovation, and Community
“After celebrating our 15th anniversary last year, I knew it was time to take the Chinese Restaurant Awards even further,” says Rae Kung, Managing Director of CRA. “This year’s gala bridges two cities that value yum cha — Hong Kong and Vancouver — and celebrates dim sum’s past, present, and future with the Chinese Restaurant Awards 2025 Dim Sum Gala Vancouver.”
The event will also serve a greater purpose, raising funds for cutting-edge research at St. Paul’s Hospital aimed at restoring hearing for those affected by hearing loss.
