Free walk-through experience includes the Woodward’s Windows, Avenue of Trees, winter lighting display, Sails of Light and more at Canada Place!

 Capture the spirit of the season at Canada Place! Celebrate Christmas at Canada Place presented by the Port of Vancouver. Running for four weeks this year from December 7 until January 3, the public is invited to experience the nostalgic tradition of the Woodward’s Windows, a magical holiday lighting display, the Sails of Light, and the festive Avenue of Trees.

“Every year we look forward to inviting the community to enjoy this colourful holiday exhibit, which has become a tradition for so many,” said Tom Corsie, president, Canada Place Corporation and vice president of real estate, Vancouver Fraser Port Authority. “We are thrilled to welcome locals and visitors alike to join us and get into the holiday spirit, surrounded by the iconic views of Vancouver’s working waterfront.”

In celebration of Canada’s North, visitors can enter to win a trip for two to the Yukon courtesy of Air North, Yukon’s Airline. The prize includes return airfare for two to Whitehorse, Yukon; two nights hotel accommodation; and one night of aurora borealis viewing. The prize is valued at $1,800.

Christmas at Canada Place 2018 includes:

  • Woodward’s Windows
    The Woodward’s Windows are a treasured part of Vancouver’s history. Originally displayed in the popular Woodward’s department store, the windows feature classic holiday scenes with animatronic characters and elaborate decor.
  • Avenue of Trees
    The Canadian Trail along the outdoor promenade at Canada Place will be transformed into a holiday wonderland. Guests can stroll the outdoor promenade enjoying beautifully decorated Christmas trees and lights.
  • Canada’s North light display

Enjoy a magical holiday experience at Canada’s North light display at Canada Place’s North Point. The display features a 15-foot illuminated moose figure named Chrismoose to properly capture the Canadian holiday spirit.

  • Festive holiday performers

Each weekend, enjoy the sounds of the holidays featuring the Silver Belles, an a cappella Christmas caroling trio, and the Santa’s Saxes Duo, performing jazzy holiday classics along the west promenade of Canada Place. Performances will occur from noon until 2:00 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

  • Sails of Light at Canada Place
    The wintery night sky will be illuminated by the Sails of Light at Canada Place when the iconic white sails come alive with Christmas inspired colours and designs.
