Cru is once again holding a fundraising dinner for the Weekend to End Women’s Cancers.

A four-course dinner with premium BC wine pairings for $99 per person.  $20 from each dinner will go directly to the Weekend to End Women’s Cancers, benefiting the BC Cancer Foundation.

Weekend to End Women’s Cancers is an annual 60 km fundraising walk that takes place over two days.  My friend Kim Hardacre has participated in the walk 8 times since the event started in 2003. The first year she did so despite the fact that the walk took place only three weeks after she had completed chemotherapy treatments for breast cancer.  Kim has participated every year since then, and estimates she has raised over $20,000 in total.

The menu is designed and prepared by Chef Alana Peckham, who will be the only female chef competing in the Gold Medal Plates in Vancouver on November 4th, 2011. Dishes will be paired with premium BC wines from Burrowing Owl, Clos du Soleil, Silver Sage and more.
