TRUCHARD TASTING NOTES

2008 Roussanne:  Rich aromas of green apple, honeydew melon, and lychee fruit; highlighted with pineapple and vanilla. The mouth has sublte flavors of nectarine, peach and fresh pear. Bright acidity provides a crisp finish of citrus, mineral, and spice.

2006 Chardonnay:  Intense aromas of tropical fruit, lemon zest, and fresh pear; combined with fig, vanilla, and spice. The mouth is rich – filled with bright flavors of wildflower honey, green apple, and nutmeg. Firm acidity provides a bright finish of citrus, mineral, and toasted oak.

2006 Pinot NoirRich aromas of wild strawberry, rhubarb, and ripe plum; combined with subtle notes of tea and sweet vanilla. The mouth is silky – layered with flavors of black cherry, cassis, and toasted oak. Firm acidity and delicate tannins focus the palate and provide a lingering finish of spice and red fruit.

2005 Syrah  Floral aromas of ripe plum, cassis, and blackberry; highlighted with vanilla, earth, and white pepper. The mouth is rich – layered with flavors of black cherry, berry jam, and red currants; followed by mineral and cracked black pepper. Mouth-filling tannins provide an opulent finish of fruit and spice.

Truchard Vineyards is a small, family-owned winery in the Carneros region of the Napa Valley.

Proprietors Tony and Jo Ann Truchard have managed a successful vineyard, growing exceptional grapes for over 30 years. Through their hard work and devotion to this unique property, they have helped pioneer wine grape growing in the Carneros.

In 1989, the Truchards established a winery and began producing wines using only their estate grown fruit – 100% grown, produced and bottled at Truchard Vineyards.
