Dekton Kitchen Countertops Showcased at IDS
We perused the Interior Design Show yesterday morning and were invited to a dinner to explore the Dekton Kitchen Countertops from Cosentino in depth, at the KI Atelier showroom. Dekton Countertops are man-made quartz-like countertops that are highly durable and actually fireproof. We’d love to redo our countertops in our apartment kitchen, and these are certainly something to look into.
The countertops can withstand heat, stains, and major scratching, they’re super low-maintenance and can even me installed outdoors. Dekton is made from a blend of natural quartz stone, porcelain, and glass, that’s compressed under high pressure to create a slab material available in over 50 colors across 7 different collections. They also comes in a variety of thicknesses for various applications, but the standard thickness for kitchen countertops is 2 cm.
Chef Justin Cheung, from Longtail Kitchen, was onhand to prove the durability of the countertops as you cooked up and provided an innovative dinner, while the design group told us more about home decor trends.
