Executive Chef Isabel Chung and her culinary brigade at Fairmont Chateau Whistler have been busy creating an abundance of tasty and tantalizing reasons to visit Whistler this fall.

OKTOBERFEST AT FAIRMONT
To celebrate Oktoberfest, Fairmont Chateau Whistler has introduced a new 3-course Bavarian BBQ on its beautiful rooftop terrace, where family-style dining meets spectacular mountain vistas. This relaxed and welcoming dinner takes place at the covered and heated Woodlands Rooftop restaurant and features live music, refreshing drinks, a delicious Bavarian-inspired menu prepared by Executive Chef Isabel Chung.

The dinner takes place 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. every Friday and Saturday evening until October 11, plus Thanksgiving Sunday. The cost is $49 per person, $29 for children aged six to 12 years old. Turkey To-Go in Whistler
Chef Isabel Chung at Fairmont Chateau Whistler takes all the hassle out of preparing a scrumptious Thanksgiving feast with her Turkey To-Go, available from October 10 to 12, 2020. Her menu includes slow roasted turkey, traditional stuffing, baked yams and buttermilk whipped potatoes, roasted BC root vegetables with thyme, pan gravy, and spiced pumpkin pie. Ultimate Hot Turkey Sandwich
Legendary sandwiches are what Whistler locals know Portobello Deli for. Now guests can enjoy a signature carved-to-order Turkey Sandwich for Thanksgiving, curtesy of Porto. Boasting open face home-style bread, stuffing, hot turkey breast, gravy and cranberry, the Ultimate Hot Turkey Sandwich is just $15 and available 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. October 10 and 11, 2020.

Thanksgiving Dinners
Enjoy a traditional three-course Thanksgiving feast with all the trimmings at The Wildflower, expertly cooked by Chef Isabel and her culinary team. Available Saturday, October 10 and Sunday, October 11 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., the price for adults is $59 and $29 for children six to 12 years old. For those looking to hosting a large family gathering and need more space, Fairmont offers a Thanksgiving Private Dining Experience. Guests will enjoy ‘home-away-from-home’ comfort and a traditional Thanksgiving feast with all the trimmings, all in a safe and spacious environment. Thanksgiving Brunch
Chef Isabel Chung’s scrumptious a la carte Harvest Brunch is one thing to be thankful for this year. In addition to a choice of featured brunch entrees, a selection of seasonally-inspired pastries, fresh fruit, a housemade parfait, smoothies, coffee, tea, and juice are also included. Harvest Brunch takes place on Sunday, October 11, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Prices are $39 for adults; children six to 12 years old are $20. CORNUCOPIA
Chef Derek Bendig has also revealed he will be hosting a series of winemakers’ dinners at an evolved Cornucopia celebration this year. Rather than an 11-day event as in years past, Fairmont Chateau Whistler will be executing eight dinners throughout the month of November. Hosted at The Chateau’s Grill Room restaurant and with 40 seats at each event will allow for ample social distancing. Confirmed dates are November 6 + 7, 13 + 14, 20 + 21, and 27 + 28. LEADER OF THE PACK
Executive Chef Isabel Chung was recently inducted into the British Columbia chapter of Les Dames d’Escoffier, an international philanthropic organization of women leaders in the fields of food, fine beverage and hospitality. The by-invitation membership is composed of over 2,400 members in 45 chapters around the world.

Meanwhile, the annual Vancouver Magazine Restaurant Awards, held virtually on September 14, recognized The Grill Room with a silver medal as one of Whistler’s Best Restaurants. The panel of judges noted the Grill Room as “a spot that under the direction of chefs Isabel Chung and Derek Bendig continues to defy expectation for a large resort dining room at every turn.”
