The more things change the more they stay the same. I’m talking about quality – specifically the quality of wine coming from Mt. Boucherie. You may think that change has only been facing us in the last 6 months, but at Mt. Boo (pet name), I would say ever since Jesse Harnden arrived, it’s been a whirlwind of excitement. Have you seen the new winery and tasting room? Have you noshed on the deck at the new winery restaurant? Have you tasted the new Modest Wine series? Have you met winemaker Jeff Hundertmark? There is a lot going on and you don’t want to miss it!

“An overnight success takes 10 years”.  For Mt. Boucherie it’s been a fruitful journey since 1968. Decades of grape growing from early plantings like Gewurztraminer in what is now the Golden Mile, planted in 1973. Now one of the larger vineyard owners across the valleys with eighty acres including Chardonnay and Semillon in Okanagan Falls (1990), Gamay, Cabernet Franc and Merlot in the Similkameen Valley, and more. Why not let Jeff tell you about his plans. He’s going to be on zoom October 7th at 5:30 pm PST with Good Wine Gal.

Who is Jeff Hundertmark? He’s a wine maker from the east (we can tease him when we see him) that finally realized his dream of working in the Napa Valley of Canada. He brings years of experience captured in chronicles of funny stories – some of which Stuart McLean would be envious. His team includes the charming and youthful Brett Thiessen who is busy converting all the vineyards through the multi-hurdles towards organic certification.
