Fish, Forage & Fun with Celebrity Chef Jamie Kennedy at the West Coast Fishing Club

July 4-8, 2011

West Coast Fishing Club is delighted to announce that celebrity Chef Jamie Kennedy will host a very special culinary trip to The Outpost on Haida Gwaii’s Graham Island, part of the esteemed West Coast Fishing Club collection of luxury fishing lodges.

Fish, Forage & Fun is Chef Kennedy’s second headlining engagement at The Outpost, due to take place on July 4-8, 2011. Last year, the legendary chef and restaurateur — owner of acclaimed Toronto establishments Gardiner Café and Gilead Café and Bistro — delighted guests with a foraging excursion along the shorelines of Haida Gwaii, followed by informal cookery classes using fresh, local ingredients. This year, Chef Kennedy and The Outpost chef team will treat guests to culinary excellence at each meal, complete with wine pairings, explorations of terroir-based gastronomy and one-on-one cooking demonstrations. In addition, a host of outdoor activities will be offered to allow guests to explore the pristine and visually stunning wilderness environment of the remote B.C. coast line surrounding the lodge, including fishing for salmon and halibut, beachcombing and hiking.

This truly is a once-in-a-lifetime experience to witness the wonder of one of the world’s last true wildernesses destinations, while in the comfort of luxurious accommodation and the company of one of Canada’s most acclaimed culinary masters.

West Coast Fishing Club’s gastronomic experiences are gaining recognition as the most exciting and inspiring adventures in the Pacific Northwest. Entering its fifth year, the David Hawksworth & Friends Culinary Adventure is held at The Clubhouse on Langara Island from July 24-28, 2011. The retreat is hosted by legendary Chef David Hawksworth, fresh from the opening of his first self-titled restaurant – Hawksworth – at Vancouver’s historic Rosewood Hotel Georgia.

Limited spaces remain for Jamie Kennedy’s Fish, Forage & Fun, costing from $5,500 per person, which includes accommodation, all meals, transfers from YVR South Terminal, fishing equipment with an experienced guide and cooking demos.
