Fresh St. North Van Market in Lower Lonsdale Partners with FoodMesh to Donate Meals
B.C.-based and family-owned Fresh St. Market North Van celebrated the official opening; it’s now the eighth location at 150 Esplanade West, in North Vancouver on November 15. We attended the opening and were super proud to see Sea Cider Temperance Series non-alcoholic cider on their shelves. I am the BC Mainland Sea Cider Ambassador for those who don’t know. That’s how much I love this family-owned and operated Vancouver Island Cidery and our ciders.

“We are proud to open Fresh St. Market in Lower Lonsdale officially and wish to thank our customers for their patience during renovations sincerely, and we also offer gratitude for the positivity and encouragement we have been hearing from so many people in the local community,” said Palle Knudsen, Senior Director Retail Operations, Fresh St. Market. “We are excited to introduce Fresh St. Market’s first-ever Burrito Bar, a hot meal self-service bar and carving station, and we also have a seating area for customers to enjoy their food and beverages comfortably.”
In addition to new food offerings and experiences at this new Fresh St. Market location, Fresh St. Market will continue fighting food waste and feeding those in need in the community with FoodMesh. This organization rescues and distributes surplus foods to vulnerable people in our communities.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with Fresh St. Market’s new store to ensure all of its unsalable food is redistributed to local hunger-relief organizations,” said Jessica Regan, CEO and Co-Founder of FoodMesh. “This partnership is a true testament to Fresh St. Market’s commitment to keeping its unsold food out of waste streams, which has helped create 2.3 million meals for people in need since we started working together in April 2020.”
“People who live on the North Shore may already be familiar with Fresh St. Market, with our first location opening in West Vancouver in 2013,” adds Knudsen. “Similar to our West Vancouver store, this new location also offers a unique market-like experience with the store’s interior reflecting the surrounding community. Customers can enjoy Garden of Lo Lo (Lower Lonsdale), Shipyards Housewares and the Esplanade Deli.”
