The Gift Guide for the Men in Your Life
Holy smokes peeps, I asked my lovely husband, Michael, to put together a gift guide and he went all out and produced some grand ideas for men. Many of these gems would of course be very appropriate for women too, apart from the beard grooming kit, one would hope, although I sometimes do feel a few stray facial hairs myself! I’m still working on my gift guides, and they’ll be up in the next few days, but here’s some great ideas from Michael. I imagine there some hints in here as to what I should be putting under the tree for him.
Playstation 5
PlayStation 5, or PS5 as it’s referred to by those in the know, has just been released and it is in such high demand that it’s sold out everywhere. The deal is you can “Experience lightning-fast loading with an ultra-high-speed SSD, deeper immersion with support for haptic feedback, adaptive triggers and 3D Audio*, and an all-new generation of incredible PlayStation® games.” Congratulations if you know what all that means, in the meantime, I’ll likely be in my office writing something, while Michael’s got his headphones on doing something or other with some control and the TV.
AND oh, just look at all the accessories you could buy! YIKES!
Slim wallet
No one needs to carry a wad of cash around with them anymore, so a minimal wallet is all that’s needed these days. Slips right into those jean pockets and carries all one really needs. Michael likes this one and it’s genuine leather and at $39.99, how could I argue with him?
For the D & D Gamer, Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything
Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything (latest rule expansion) is available locally at Drexoll Games, on Fourth Avenue, and dice sets are also a nice stocking stuffer too. If you are married to a D & D player (those who know, know) and you’re listening to them play virtually, it’s very odd, perhaps put your own headphones on at this time.
Reusable Face Masks Form Better with Joy
Everyone needs fun new face coverings these days and we’ve been having a lot of fun with the ones we currently have from Better With Joy, and are ordering some more festive ones for the holidays. These are the three-layer masks and are washable! BUY HERE.
Beard Grooming Kits and Shavers
Beard grooming kits are going to be a hit this year, as a lot of men have quit shaving and their beards need some love! We found a nice example from Rocky Mountain Barber Company. If you are shaving Michael swears the Philps One Shave is a great little shaver.
Multi Tool Army Knife
Something everyone should have at least one, if not two of, is a swiss army knife. Handy in so many situations. We’re liking this winter edition one from the original maker of army knives, Swiss Army. Not safe for carry on when flying though, as I once rudely found out. Luckily, I did have time to mail back to myself.
Socks and More Socks
Everyone needs socks, and more socks! We’re always losing one of the pair, or holes form, or someone’s wife wears them (oops) or we just need something flashy and new. Wool socks, sports socks, no one will complain about socks. Not sure if Michael would want this particular pair, but I’m loving them, and they’re designed in Canada.
True Wireless Earbuds
We both have the JBL Tune 120’s and the sound quality is super good. There are a few different things you can do with them too, like take phone calls, but I haven’t figured it all out yet. It’s been about six months since I’ve had mine. Michael got his headphones just this week and has everything under control.
Portable Charger/Charging Cords
Whose phone battery isn’t always dying? No matter how long your phone’s battery life is supposed to last, it’s all a lie. There’s lots out there, but this Anker one is top rated, and that must mean it’s the best, no?
YETI Backpack
We love our Yeti mugs, and coolers and Michael is particularly fond of his backpack. He’s had it for a few years, and it looks brand new. At $249.99 it’s not cheap, but it will last and last. Thankfully, Yeti ships to Canada now too! BACKPACK.
