Haywire became the first winery in British Columbia to introduce a Lunar New Year wine in 2014 and this year a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Vancouver Chinatown Foundation. Specially labelled with a bold Year of the Snake motif, this celebrated wine is a meticulous blend of Merlot and Cabernet, perfectly complementing the vibrant flavours of the festive season. Haywire’s Lunar Red offers an intense and aromatic nose with notes of dark cherry, black licorice, leather, and a subtle earthy element. On the palate, this medium-bodied wine is beautifully balanced with chalky tannins. Flavours of stewed fruits, cherry cola, fennel, and dark cocoa unfold, leading to a long, bright finish with lifting acidity.

Perfect for pairing with Lunar New Year favourites, Lunar Red shines alongside ginger beef, smoky sauces, dark soy, Szechuan cuisine, and wok-seared vegetables.
