Charlotte Voisey, Brand Ambassador, Hosts Local Events

Charge your glasses and prepare to greet Charlotte Voisey, Hendrick’s Gin Brand Ambassador and Company Mixologist with William Grant & Sons, who will be touring in BC during November. Charlotte will be visiting both Vancouver and Victoria to take part in several enticing events, aiming to increase appreciation and understanding of Hendrick’s Gin, often cited as “A Most Peculiar Gin” due to its unique and distinctive taste.

Originating from Ayrshire, Scotland, Hendrick’s Gin is a delicious blend of ingredients, distilled to perfection in one of the world’s four last remaining Carter-Head Stills. Complimented by essence of Bulgarian Rose and cucumber, Hendrick’s Gin is meticulously prepared in small batches to ensure supreme quality.

Gin is hardly the first libation that comes to mind when Scotland is mentioned, but Charlotte Voisey and the team at William Grant & Sons are embarking on a tour to change that. Recognized earlier this year by the James Beard Foundation, Charlotte is a much-admired persona behind modern mixology. Boasting a silver medal from the World Female Bartender Championships, Charlotte’s unique cocktails can be found on menus around the world, including The Dorchester in London and Gramercy Park Hotel in New York.

“The unusual distillation process combined with an oddly delicious combination of flavours, yields a one-of-a-kind gin that makes an great base ingredient for an impressively diverse range of cocktails,” explained Charlotte. “From the familiar (Hendrick’s Tonic – Hendrick’s Gin, tonic and cucumber garnish) to the remarkable (Hendrick’s Bouquet – Hendrick’s Gin, Rose Juice, Lychee juice, fresh lemon and a rose syrup float), the results are a magnificent treat for the eyes as well as the senses.”

Charlotte Voisey will be guest of honour at the Opus Vancouver Hotel’s seven-year anniversary celebrations, held on November 10th, 2009. With the theme “Seven Deadly Sins”, Charlotte will be concocting inspired cocktails alongside Opus Bar Manager, Sherry Diggle.
