Honey Salt at Parq Vancouver is dedicating the fifth edition of its ongoing Art-Dinner Series to First Nations heritage, culture, and cuisine on Thursday, October 2, 2025. The evening features a Four Hands, four-course collaboration between Honey Salt Chef and series founder Johann Caner and guest chef Stephanie Baryluk, alongside a curated patio art exhibit, live performances, and a charity art auction in support of Girls Who LEAP.

Giving Back: All proceeds from the live art auction support Girls Who LEAP (Lead to Empower & Act with Purpose), a volunteer-run charity providing leadership, mentorship, and wrap-around supports for female-identifying and non-binary youth in the DTES and Grandview-Woodlands.

Guest Chef: Stephanie Baryluk
Chef Stephanie Baryluk is a proud Teetl’it Gwich’in from Teetl’it Zheh (Fort McPherson) in Treaty 11 Territory. Drawing from Arctic traditions—hunting, fishing, and land stewardship—Baryluk champions the preservation and sharing of Indigenous culinary knowledge. Named one of Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women (2024), she pairs culinary craft with advocacy to inspire future generations and promote cultural heritage and sustainability.
“This is an important event that allows us to pay homage to First Nations heritage and culture and the contributions that Indigenous peoples have provided since time immemorial,” says Chef Johann Caner. “I’m honoured to join Chef Baryluk to benefit a worthwhile cause in our community.”

Canapés – Barkley Sound Cold-Smoked Sockeye Tartare, juniper aioli and Spruce Tip Bannock, tradish jam
First – Pâté en Croûte — Fraser Valley duck terrine, cedar jelly
Second – Organic Ocean Halibut — cedar-plank seared, Nk’Mip sweetgrass beurre blanc
Third – Braised Bison — blueberry demi-glace, birch-glazed wild mushrooms, Chilliwack corn risotto
Dessert –Sweetgrass Crème Brûlée — Pemberton preserved wild berries

Special Guest: Ashley Callingbull (Miss Universe Canada 2024 representative), advocate for Indigenous women and youth and champion of Girls Who LEAP, will contribute to a powerful live performance with Vancouver artist/actor/director David Hovan.
Live music & storytelling by YB Nakota (Indigenous Sioux singer/artist), Patrick Anthony (Leq’a:mel First Nation singer-songwriter), and Lovina Tootoosis (Edmonton-based artist, raised in Poundmaker Cree Nation, SK).
