ice creamvAs the summer draws to a close head to Beta 5 Chocolates  at 413 Industrial AVenue for the final weekend of ice cream socials, with a special Friday night (August 22) party starting at 7pm, and a Saturday (August 23) event from 1 – 5pm!

From the release:

We’ll have a brand new tropical sundae, combining mango, Tahitian vanilla and coconut rice pudding ice creams, together with passionfruit curd, mango pearls, coconut meringues, caramelized puffed rice and black tea cakes ($10).

Our ice cream floats ($6) will be back again – this time made with locally-crafted organic ginger ale, and our Tahitian vanilla ice cream, these are a real treat.

This week’s frozen cream puff takes inspiration from one of our favorite beach drinks – the pina colada. A refreshing pineapple and coconut sorbet spiked with a healthy splash of white rum, these are sure to cool you off ($5).

We’ll also be serving up some of our most popular cream puffs on Friday night – vanilla, blueberry-yuzu, salted caramel and the s’more. They’ll be available individually ($4.50) or take one of each and share with your friends ($16 for 4).

Back again this week, we’ll be serving up our take on the classic ice cream treat – Baked Alaska ($5). This time we’ve crafted a lime curd ice cream, and piped it onto a graham cracker macaron. The whole thing is dipped in a lime meringue, then roasted to order – a frozen version of key lime pie.

In addition to all of these goodies, we’ll be stocked with a good selection of ice cream sandwiches ($4), including a brand new flavour – peach iced tea.

We’ve stocked up for the weekend, but as always with our hand-crafted treats, come early to avoid disappointment and to get the best selection.
