Dine & Film celebration with Videomatica   in support of Karma Tuesday

Bistrot Bistro and our neighbour, Kitsilano film-lovers Videomatica would like to offer our customers the best food and film for the summer.

Diners who come to Bistrot Bistro on Tuesdays will enjoy dinner and receive a voucher for a free rental at Videomatica while supporting the Karma Tuesday recipient for July:  Disable sailing Association

karma – a noun (in Hinduism and Buddhism) the sum of a person’s actions in this and previous states of existence, viewed as affecting their future fate.

Every Tuesday, 5% of sales will be donated to a local charity or non-profit organization. This is our way of giving back to the community and thanking the people of Vancouver for their support. You can help – come to Bistrot Bistro on Tuesdays and share in the good Karma!

Why not come in for a seared tuna salad and go home with Charlotte Gainsbourg or Daniel Auteuil.

Profile

Fashion design student and Bistrot Bistro server Lindsay has been a part of our BB family long before we came to Vancouver.  In fact, she delivered beautiful cheeses to us in Windsor at our previous
restaurant. We asked Lindsay a few questions and had a lot of fun with her answers……

What do you like to do on your day off?

If only I had a day off… LOL; if for some reason I get one night off, I enjoy going for dinner with my “one and only” and following with a nice walk with our dog Harley. Any extra time with friends is very special to me.

Who is your favourite comic book character?

I’ve never really been into comic books but if I had to choose I think I would go with, Catwoman! She is sexy, mysterious and dressed in black…. Kinda like me! Haha ( I wish)

Your first thought, having won the lottery?

Buying my mom and little sister a house on the water; it has always been my mom’s dream and I would be honoured to be the one to give it to her. Then I would travel the world and buy a new wardrobe everywhere I went!

What would you like to ask from the gods?

I would ask the gods for the end of greed and domination in humanity.

Favorite BB dish?

Haha, I think everybody I work with already knows this answer; but it has got to be the Mussels with our baguette. The sauce is to die for!

Book you are reading?

I just finished the autobiography of `Slash` from Guns and Roses… and now I am reading my boyfriend`s dad`s biography a famous `football` player back in the seventies, for Liverpool). Next is one of my favourite fashion designers Vivienne Westwood.

Dream meal:

My dream meal would have a lot of wine and all of the people who have inspired me over the years. Some of the people would include: Jim Morrison, the groupies from the seventies, Betsy Johnson, The Beatles, Alexander McQueen, Tim Burton, Vivienne Westwood. These people are incredibly talented and I would love to drink some wine and ask them questions about why they are who they are!

Bonus question: Name a few of your favourite things (ie raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens…)
My dog Harley, trees for miles, the ocean, my future, never knowing what is next, my tattoos, my mom.

Next month we will interview Stephanie the politic wiz..

Now some Bistrot Bistro gossip (or updates!):

How do we keep smiling working and happy?

By going on vacation LOL yes like you, we have to and we do. So we will take our family away for 10 days in July to come back recharged, refreshed and ready for another year of hard work.

This is the key of long term survival in our business is balance and this is why we take regular days off during the year, so we keep our mind in good shape to never take our eyes off the ball!

We also visit other places to get some great ideas and a fresh look at our own establishment so we can be even better when we return.
Last, but not least: new on the web,  look for all special event info and updates on our website.  Stay tuned as there will be news popping up all the time.

We hope to see you soon, have a safe and happy summer – and  thank you!

Coming this summer:

  • August will be berry month!
  • Team member interview Stephanie Politic science wiz…..

Have Fun………..
