Kanke Seafood Restaurants is proud to announce two new staff additions to both Goldfish Pacific Kitchen and Joe Fortes Seafood & Chop House – Jay Paré, General Manager of Goldfish and Kimberly Hall, Sommelier and Beverage Purchaser for Goldfish & Joe Fortes.

Jay Paré takes the helm of Goldfish Pacific Kitchen as General Manager. With more than 25 years of experience in the Whistler restaurant industry, Paré was known affectionately as “Mr. Whistler” by many of his regular customers from his days at Antonio Corsi’s Quattro Whistler, and working with Umberto Menghi, Goldfish hopes to re-christen him “Mr. Yaletown” in the year 2010. Paré’s enthusiasm for exemplary service makes him a natural leader, and a guest favourite.

Kimberly Hall joins Goldfish and Joe Fortes as the new Sommelier/Beverage Purchaser. An expert in the industry, Hall’s passion for all things wine is a great asset to the company. Most recently Hall was chosen as the first ever female intern to assist with the wine program at the world renowned French Laundry in California. She is certified by both the International Sommelier Guild of Canada and the Court of Master Sommeliers in the USA. Her accolades include the 2006 Puddifoot Sommelier of the Year award at the Playhouse International Wine Festival in Vancouver. Hall honed her managerial skills with the renowned Fairmont hotel chains in Vancouver and Miami.
