After recently celebrating a successful first year on Davie Street, as well as the successful launch of their new Sunday brunch service, La Brasserie is giving back to the West End community by holding a series of charity champagne brunches to benefit local not-for-profits.
Beginning in November, on the first Sunday of every month La Brasserie will donate 20% of the food proceeds from its brunch service to a selected charity. And because it wouldn’t be a brunch without bubbly, $5 from every glass of champagne and $4 from every mimosa will also be donated.
“We’ve had a great first year thanks to the support we’ve received from our neighbors in the West End,” said co-owner Stephen Wiese. “This is a chance for us to give something back to the neighborhood.”
The first round of selected charities will include: A Loving Spoonful (November 1), McLaren House (December 6), the Gay & Lesbian Business Association (GLBA) Scholarship Fund (January 10), The Dr. Peter Centre (February 7), the West End Community Policing Centre (March 7) and Team Vancouver (April 4).
“In difficult economic times, when donations are down, it’s great to see businesses look for innovative ways they can give back to the community,” said Lisa Martella, Executive Director of A Loving Spoonful. “We are thrilled La Brasserie has selected us as one of their beneficiaries and we look forward to seeing everyone on November 1 to enjoy a great brunch for a great cause!”
