Kitsilano’s Las Margaritas is one of the oldest restaurants in the area. Home to food that is a combo of Mexican and Californian influence, it is a fun spot with lots of different tequilas, in fact the biggest collection we know of in British Columbia. I’d go ahead and customize your margarita with an upgrade. There’s a patio that can fit 60 and the staff is super friendly. Salsa and chips arrive as you do.
We stopped in for a Saturday night and found the Cochinita Pibil tacos to be the best bet, oven roasted Achiote marinated pork, oven roasted in a banana leaf. My fish tacos were descent but lacking somewhat in flavour; I’d go for the pork next time. Our crazy loud neighbour from down the hall made the evening rather eventful and participated in the dining adventure by ordering up an Enchilada de Sonora with moist roast chicken cheddar and mozzarella cheese which was enjoyable as well. Our waiter was excellent and was a good sport when the neighbour got a bit offside as is lovable but a little nuts.
I upgraded my marg to the Uno Mas tequila the second time and it made a world of difference.
