As many of you know I am a member of Les Dames and a past scholarship recipient. JULIA CHILD 100TH BIRTHDAY DINE AROUND AUGUST. 15, 2012

Les Dames d’Escoffier, BC Chapter, an organization of British Columbia’s most accomplished women in food, fine beverages and arts of the table, www.lesdames.ca , is taking part in the international celebrations of Julia Childs 100th birthday  with two major fundraisers, and we are reaching out for your support.

August 15th Les Dames d’Escoffier BC is throwing Canada’s biggest dinner party with over 40 Restaurants & cooking schools across BC donating one table and a set menu inspired by the recipes of Julia Child. Same night, same time, same price. Venues include Yew at the Four Seasons, Vij’s, Diva, the new Pier 7 Hotel and Fairmont Hotels across British Columbia. Tickets are on sale now. Part of this fundraising initiative is a raffle. Tickets will be sold in person to those taking part in the dinearound, a very select group of patrons, and we need raffle prizes! Gift certificates for restaurants, hotels, experiences, Gourmet products and baskets, select wines and more are being solicited. We will ensure that your generous donation gets all the recognition possible through our extensive PR blitz for this event and all printed materials.

JULIA CHILD 100TH BIRTHDAY GALA LONG TABLE DINNER, SEPTEMBER.8, 2012

Then on Saturday Sept. 8th, on the rooftop pool level of the Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver, ten great chefs come together to prepare 10 courses for 100 guests, each paying $300. Vancouver Four Season’s Ned Bell, Seattle Four Season’s Kerry Sear, Tojo of Tojo’s, the Pear Tree’s Scott Jaeger, Culinary Capers’ Margaret Chisholm, Chef Andrea Carlson and celebrated Pastry Chef Thomas Haas are just some of the great chefs creating a course.

We are looking for major live auction prizes that will excite and entice our esteemed guests for this event. Ideas include rare or library wine selections, Chef’s Table tasting dinners, wine tours, culinary adventures , equipment and more. We can partner several  smaller donations into one experience also so please contact us with any offers and suggestions.
