Mollie Katzen was the first celebrated cookbook author to cross our threshold at Books to Cooks, sixteen years ago. We were a mere three weeks old, not ready to host a grand event, but we made her lunch, and hoped to see her again when we could honour her work properly, and share herself with our community. Finally, the opportunity has been presented, and tonight we celebrate Mollie’s newest publication, The Heart of the Plate.
When Mollie cooks, she wants as much space on the plate as possible for her beloved garden vegetables. Tonight, we will gather at a new restaurant in our neighbourhood, The Farmer’s Apprentice, where chef/owner David Gunawan will prepare dinner, a heavenly vegetable meal, to honour our desire for plant-based diets, original ideas, and to share a table with Mollie Katzen.
This will be an intimate dinner, only 24 places at the tables available.
Cost: $135 includes a personalized copy of The Heart of the Plate, dinner, and wine.
