In Terrain Kitchen, Chef Joshua Hall has planned an amazing five course meal, with suggested wine pairings by in-house Sommelier, featuring the wines of the Cowichan Valley.
The New Year’s Eve menu is as follows:
Shucked Effingham (Barkley sound) oyster with cucumber and vodka salad.
Roasted butternut squash salad with frisse lettuce and red wine poached Anjou pear; with spicy candied pecans, goat feta and apple cider vinaigrette.
Dungeness crab pies, with spicy smoked paprika aioli and celery root and green onion slaw.
Light fruit Sorbet to cleanse the palette.
Braised Alberta beef short rib and seared Qualicum Scallops (surf and turf). With Hilary’s Sacre bleu and potato pave, roasted crimini and Portobello mushrooms and red wine gastrique sauce and finished with micro greens.
Dark Chocolate and espresso Pot du crème, with a flourless chocolate hazelnut brownie and macerated strawberries.
A vegetarian alternative to the main course will be offered, MUST be requested at the time of reservation.
Throughout the evening, for your listening pleasure, hear Victoria pop duo “Strawberry Vale.” Stephen and Lisa Ogden will be playing familiar cover songs mixed with several of their own catchy and melodic originals from their newest album. Alannah Myles, International Grammy and multiple Juno award winning artist, said the following about Strawberry Vale:
