Nuba Re-Open Two Locations For Dine-In
It’s happening slowly and safely. Here’s some news from one of our favourite spots, Nuba Mount Pleasant and Gastown opens.
Local Middle Eastern cuisine favourite Nuba are open for dine-in service at their Mount Pleasant location (146 East 3rd Avenue) and Gastown location (207 West Hastings Street).
Open at both locations from noon to 8 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays and from noon to 9 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, Nuba’s dine-in menu will include a selection of mezzes, salads, plates and mains plus the addition of pitas for lunch service. Nuba’s recently launched direct delivery program remains available as well as their take-out options that include meal kits, beer and wine also available through nuba.ca and DoorDash.
A number of health and safety measures have been put in place at both locations in accordance with BC’s Phase Two reopening protocols, including a designated contactless pick-up window at the Mount Pleasant restaurant for orders placed online, ‘touchless’ menus available both online and on chalkboards, and strict observance of social distancing guidelines and regulations.
Nuba’s other two Vancouver-area restaurants in Yaletown (508 Davie Street) and Kitsilano (3116 West Broadway) will remain closed to dine-in service for the time being but are expected to open their dining rooms on Monday, June 1. In the interim, both locations will continue to offer the same menu options as before via direct delivery and take-out through Nuba’s website and third-party delivery partners.
“We’ve been working on the most responsible way to reopen our dining rooms since we temporarily closed, with the health and safety of our guests informing our every decision, as always,” says Nuba Co-Owner Ernesto Gomez. “Now that we have all of the necessary protocols and procedures in place, we’re looking forward to re-introducing our neighbours to that same warm and welcoming Nuba atmosphere — with a few tweaks for their safety.”

ABOUT NUBA | Founded in Vancouver by Victor Bouzide in 2003 as a way of paying homage to his grandmother’s cooking while also placing a premium on seasonal, locally sourced ingredients, Nuba has grown from a small, 15-seat restaurant on Hastings Street to a popular and successful group of four restaurants and a catering division, all co-owned by Bouzide and Ernesto Gomez. Nuba has built a loyal following for its modern Middle Eastern cuisine, seeking out the freshest handpicked ingredients and offering a menu that is largely vegetarian- and vegan-focused while also featuring dishes that contain halal, non-medicated and hormone-free meat and poultry. Food and juices are made to order from authentic, original recipes passed down through several generations and sincerely nurtured. The spirit of tradition runs deep at Nuba, but never at the expense of its desire to provide guests with new and exciting dining experiences. | nuba.ca
