The Fairmont Pacific Rim has stocked up on candles, lined up “unplugged” musicians, and is ready to pour a “green” drink in honour of Earth Hour – Saturday, March 26th from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm.
As homage to Earth Hour, the night will include a candlelight dinner in the pan-Asian bistro, ORU and acoustic entertainment in the Lobby Lounge. For purists, diners can select from the raw menu that is featured as part of the Lifestyles Cuisine Plus program.
Although Kermit said, “it’s not easy being green”, he will be honoured with an eco-cocktail called Kermit’s Katana that features local artisanal sake from Granville Island, cucumber slices, fresh lime juice and vodka and two for one prices during Earth Hour. Guests will be checked in by candlelight and can participate by turning off their lights and power in their guestroom.
To continue their active support of a sustainable future and to promote environmental responsibility within the company, the hotel’s environmental committee has issued a challenge to staff who will be off-site during the event to sign a voluntary pledge to take part in Earth Hour.
