What Drinks To Bring to Holiday Parties
Sure cookies and candies are great, but if you really want to be a hit at a party bring some stellar booze to share.
Parallel 49 and Central City 2018 “Alpine Adventure Pack” Beer Advent Calendar
Parallel 49 Brewing and Central City Brewers and Distillers have another great version of their yearly joint annual beer advent calendar.
This year’s version is called the Alpine Adventure Pack and has contain 12 mystery beers from P49 and 12 from Red Racer, with plenty of different styles to please everyone, some new beers and old favourites.
Pick up the Alpine Adventure Pack at the Parallel 49 and Central City retail stores, private liquor stores right now and some BC government liquor stores. You’ll be the hit of any party. Or just buy it for yourself.
Vancouver Island Brewing Champagne Brut IPA
The Champagne of beers! This is a brut IPA with Belgian flair. You’ll find a complex blend of tropical and floral hops elevated by a classic Belgian yeast character with a bone-dry malt backbone. A celebration in every sip. Floral, Fruity, Spicy!
Evolve’s White or Pink Effervesence
Every party needs some bubble and Summerland’s Evolve winery has a pink and a white version that pairs well with the variety of foods served during the holidays as well as being a great solo sipper.
Blasted Church Wines
Blasted Church came out with some great new labels for their very spiritual wines this year and we’ll being serving some of the Big Bang Theory Red ($21.50), with hints of cranberries and cherries alongside our turkey, and have been enjoying the Hatsfield Fuse white ($16.75) with our seafood dishes. Bonus points as you can talk about the labels.
Beaujolais Villages 2016 Louis Jadot
Louis Jadot has been making wine since 1859. This wine is crafted from two different sources of grapes, one de-stemed and not. It’s a fruity wine with structure and aging potential, but ready to drink and share now. Great with turkey!
Nutrl Vodka Sodas
I never thought I’d be advocating buying soda and vodka in a can, because you know you can make that yourself, right? But it’s really all about the convenience and I just added it to our shopping list for the last day of work at the office as it’s well loved around here and now comes in pineapple and cranberry flavour so I’m hoping we’ll get to try that tomorrow.
Zen Kombucha
I sampled this in the summer and it became my go to summer drink. The drink comes in lemon lavender and pear ginger and would be a perfect pre-dinner sipper garnished with some fruit and served up in a fancy glass. They’ll think you’re a cocktail genius.
