#GIVEAWAY – tote bag and tank top!!! @recreativeapparel We’ve partnered with Recreative Apparel, a new local apparel brand to celebrate getting back on track with our fitness classes at @cadencevan Cycle, to motivate us to keep on keeping on, to spread the word about this new brand, and to give you a treat and motivate you too. To enter: 1️⃣ LIKE this post 2️⃣ FOLLOW @goodlifevan and @recreativeapparel 3️⃣ TAG a friend below (unlimited entries, but only unique tags will be counted) ⭐️ BONUS ENTRIES: repost this on your story (be sure to tag @goodlifevan and @recreativeapparel so we can see!) Aurore Plavis is a local self-starter who launched with a lot of passion for eco-friendly and affordable clothing. The unique detail about her brand is that all items are created exclusively from recycled fibers, made from post-consumer water bottles (rPET). Manufacturing rPET uses less water and energy and emits less greenhouse gas than conventional methods – and the recycled polyester happens to be perfect for active-wear as it is durable, sweat-wicking, anti-bacterial, UV-protective, pill-resistant, and certified safe for the skin (Oeko-Tex). The products are dyed with non-toxic dispersed dye, and the company produces locally to reduce their carbon footprint and support the local community. Recreative Apparel even offers a Take-Back Program to address the end-of-life of products, turning them into something new (a bolster or kid’s clothing) once more. . . . #circularfashion #circularactivewear #recreatethemold #madeinyvr #madeinvancouver #versatilefashion #qualityoverquantity #supportlocal #supportsmallbusiness #vancouver #vancouverfashion #canada #madeincanada #vancouverbc #yvrcontest #yvrgiveaway

Aurore Plavis is a local self-starter that launched her small company Recreative Apparel (recreativeapparel.com) in March 2020, neither with a big fashion background, nor with much entrepreneurial knowledge – but with a lot of passion for eco-friendly and affordable clothing.

Aurore launched her business exactly one week before Canada went on the Covid19 Lockdown, which has made the beginning more than challenging for her – she is self-funded and very passionate about her project, which definitely deserves some love! ”

“The journey that led me to Recreative Apparel started in 2004 while backpacking around South America and seeing plastic waste in the most desolate of landscapes on my way to Chile from Bolivia. I’ve always loved fashion and the environment and wondered if it was possible to reconcile both. I knew that fashion was one of the biggest polluters in the world. But it was the collapse of the Dhaka garment factory in 2013 that made me realize that I was part of the problem. I stopped buying from big companies and started to question my purchasing habits.”
