Come join us for our Member’s Choice Wine Tasting event on May 18th at the Listel Hotel on Robson.

Our members have voted and the results are in! Our tasting will focus on South American Malbecs, particularly those from Argentina.

Originally from southwestern France, Malbec has become Argentina’s signature wine. It’s ability to withstand early frost and add colour and density to a wine have made it a mainstay in Bordeaux. In recent years however, its popularity has shifted from France to regions of warmer climates such as Australia, Chile and most notably Argentina. Savoury and spicy, with earthy undertones, Malbec is currently one of the most popular wines in North America. This tasting of South American Malbecs will reveal the special and unique characteristics of this noble grape.

Lance Berelowitz, the South World Wine Society’s co-founder, past President and past Cellar Master, will lead us through this exciting tasting, sharing his unparalleled knowledge of these wines. Book now as big red wines are always popular!

For this tasting we will be enjoying the following wines:
Viu Manent Chile Colchagua Valley 2006 Single Vineyard – Trivento Argentina Mendoza 2005 Golden Reserve
Catena Zapata Argentina Mendoza 2006
Zuccardi Q Argentina 2006
Tikal Argentina Mendoza 2006 Amorio
