Lunch is always a treat at MARKET in the Shangri-La Hotel Vancouver, but in April it’s an extra special. From April 4 to 18, 2014 Anthony Ricco, the Executive Chef at New York’s famed Spice Market presents a menu inspired by the street food Jean-Georges enjoyed while travelling in Southeast Asia.
Enjoy Spice Market flavours in a $29 Lunch Prix Fixe, or for dinner the $68 Five-Course Tasting Menu. Spice Market items will also be available on the lunch and dinner à la carte menus, with favourites including:
Shrimp Dumplings, Lobster and Shitake Mushroom Sauce; Mongolian Lamb Satay, Sweet Soy Glaze; LemonYellowfin Tuna, Lemon Szechuan Vinaigrette; Roasted Salmon, Green Curry Broth, Thai Eggplant.
We sampled the 50 MIN PRIX FIXE SPICE MARKET POWER LUNCH for $29 and went for the shrimp dumplings, lobster and Shitake Mushroom sauce, the roasted salmon in a spicy green curry broth with just the right amount of kick and a decadent Vietnamese Coffee Tart. We wish the menu was around for longer, but perhaps a visit to the real Spice Market in New York is in the cards instead.
