Stag’s Hollow Winery Celebrates 15th Year with First-of-Its Kind “Cachet™ Series”

#BCWINE Limited Edition Wines Highlight Pioneering British Columbia Winery’s Dedication to Quality and Innovation

Marking its 15th anniversary as one of British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley pioneering wine producers, Stag’s Hollow Winery stagshollowwinery.com today unveiled the first two wines in the limited edition Cachet series of uniquely blended wines.

The Cachet series continues Stag’s Hollow’s  tradition of producing award-winning, highest quality wines while incorporating grape varietals not typical to the British Columbia wine growing region.   Crafted by Dwight Sick, winemaker, Cachet 2008 Limited Edition No.1 (1500 bottles produced) blends Stag’s Hollow estate-grown Tempranillo with estate-grown Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Osoyoos-region Syrah.  The foundation of Cachet 2009 Limited Edition No. 2 (450 bottles produced) is Grenache blended with Syrah, Viognier and Marsanne.

“Each of the Cachet series wines tells a unique story that captures the passion, knowledge and caring that are key ingredients in every bottle of our wine, ” said Larry Gerelus, Stag’s Hollow co-founder and co-owner. “The Cachet series maintains the quality of our core Pinot Noir, Syrah, Sauvignon Blanc and Merlot offerings, and builds on the character of our popular ‘Heritage Block’ blends.  The result is a series of elegant, complex, yet approachable wines with a distinct Stag’s Hollow signature.”

Using a fusion of old and new world winemaking styles, Stag’s Hollow produces approximately 6000 cases of handcrafted wine annually from estate-grown grapes and grapes from smaller, quality-oriented growers throughout the South Okanagan region. In addition to gold medal winning varietals, Stag’s Hollow specializes in distinctive, wine blends that take advantage of the quality and diversity of grapes from these select vineyards.
