An event that features pop-up restaurants at exotic, private locations around Vancouver

Swallow Tail Canada is pleased to announce an exciting new event for Dine Out Vancouver 2011, Tourism Vancouver’s annual city-wide celebration of food and wine. Starting on January 14th, guests can participate in a culinary speakeasy tour. The Secret Supper Soiree will whisk adventurous diners to a selection of hidden locations where they will be served B.C. focused cocktails, wine, and tasting plates. The diners will ride in style aboard a trolley from the Vancouver Trolley Company, sipping and tasting their way through the city.

“Secret Supper Soiree is a four-hour odyssey of wining and dining,” says Robin Kort, chef and owner of Swallow Tail Canada. “It will be an opportunity for people to try something a little different than the usual dine out format. It’s all about mystery, adventure and exclusivity. Our chefs are excited to create a fabulous menu that will reflect these ideals!”

“Tourism Vancouver’s goal is to generate demand for Vancouver as a destination. Incorporating a full menu of exciting culinary events that will become synonymous with the Dine Out Vancouver program in intended to do just that,” says Lucas Pavan of Tourism Vancouver. “We’re thrilled to be working with Swallow Tail Canada and the Vancouver Trolley Company.”

The food will be prepared by a selection of talented Vancouver chefs. The dishes will feature fresh, foraged, wild B.C. food such as Dungeness crab caught by the chefs themselves. The locations of the pop-up restaurants will remain a surprise until guests arrive at their destination. Organizers promise they will be nowhere guests have ever eaten before.
