The Flying Otter Grill Victoria

TABLE ON THE PATIO, PLEASE
Summer is the time for sitting on the patio, eating great food and enjoying a cool beverage. Just in time for season the patio scene in Victoria, BC has expanded bringing more seaside tables and chairs to one of Canada’s busiest working harbours. Opened at the end of June 2009, The Flying Otter Grill, named after the Canadian de Havilland plane, the Otter, and sister restaurant to The Flying Beaver in Richmond, BC, is owned by Harbour Air Seaplanes who runs daily scheduled flights to Vancouver, BC. The 68-seat restaurant, found in the same floating building as Harbour Air’s Victoria Terminal offers pub-style food with West Coast influences along with a great selection of microbrew beers. Just a short distance away, the Lido Waterfront Bistro, also opened in June 2009 provides yet another space in the sun. Located adjacent to the Kenmore Air Floatplane Terminal, providing daily flights to Seattle, WA, the menu at this European bistro-style eatery includes a wonderful selection of breakfast, lunch and tapa items along with organic coffee drinks and teas, locally brewed beers, specialty wines and locally distilled spirits. With these two new eateries on the harbour, visitors to Victoria will discover that finding a place in the sun has never been so easy!
