Tomato Fresh Food Cafe in Support of People with Spinal Cord Injuries

TomatoCOver V4.inddAn Extraordinary Culinary Experience

Versatile and seasonally focused Tomato Fresh Food Café and award winning Kenwood Vineyard will join their talent on October 21, 2009, in support of the BC Paraplegic Association’s vision of A World Without Barriers.

Hosted at organically-rooted Tomato Fresh Food Café, this exceptional culinary experience will captivate the most demanding dinner guests and anticipates being a sold out event that will gather Vancouver’s elite.

The net proceeds of this evening will benefit the BC Paraplegic Association (BCPA), whose mission is to assist persons with spinal cord injuries to achieve independence, self reliance and full community participation. The funds raised will help people with spinal cord injuries to rebuild their lives.

Tomato Fresh Food Café Owner Christian Gaudreault and Chef James Campbell participate in many events that involve working with the local farmers and organic products. Chef Campbell grew up surrounded by food inspirations. His grandmother always celebrated the seasons of food. The Corn Harvest was celebrated with family and friends getting together on the corn boil on the beach and the same for the lobster season and the potato season.

Chef Campbell’s accolades include Gold Metals under Wolfgang Leskein the Salon Culinaire B.C. and the Hot Food Cooking at the Food Expo BC competitions. His professional trajectory lists some recognized restaurants in Canada, including the Beaujolais Restaurant in Toronto, Ontario, where he apprenticed under Bob Brerman.

At Kenwood, grapes from Sonoma County’s finest vineyards get the attention they deserve. The harvest from each vineyard is handled separately within the winery to preserve its individuality. This small lot winemaking technique allows winemaker Pat Henderson to bring each lot of wine to its fullest potential. In the California tradition, Kenwood Vineyards produces a full line of premium quality varietal wines including Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay Sauvignon Blanc, Zinfandel, Pinot Noir and Merlot. Wine & Spirits Magazine named Kenwood as one of its “TOP 50 Restaurant Wines of 2008”; Beverage Dynamics April’08 issue included Kenwood in its “Top California Brands” list, and wrote “An impressive line of wines.”
