The future of the library and its role within the community is changing. Vancouver Public Library has recognized this shift and has a new vision for the future.

Produced by The Social Concierge, next month’s TOUCH event is raising money and support for a new technology-rich space at VPL called the Inspiration Lab.

VPL’s Inspiration Lab will ignite and engage the creativity of Vancouver. This bold, energetic space in the Central Library will offer a digital recording studio and sound mixing equipment, video editing software and self-publishing support.

TOUCH is the start of bringing this vision to life. Working with Malcolm Levy of Hybridity, The Social Concierge is creating an interactive digital playground where inspiration takes many forms and stories come to life – in words, on the screen and through your touch. Five creative installations are at the centre of an evening of digital chic supporting the city’s newest creation space, the VPL Inspiration Lab.

Entertainment includes DJ VH1 (Lady Gaga’s loyal partner), electro indie soul pop from the HUMANS, and visual mapping in the VPL atrium artistically produced by HFour and its artistic director, Stuart Ward.

Expect an artistic feast for the senses.
