Urban Digs is having a party at the farm on Sunday to celebrate summer & the launch of the FarmCity Fresh Cart which officially hit the streets last week. Drop by any time between 4-10. Your $10 admission includes one free drink (beer or organic fruit soda), music & a tour of the farm. Re-up BBQ will be on site with their smoker and guest chef Liam Lewis aka “The Little Locavore” serving up their award winning free-range ribs or chicken & coleslaw for $8. Salads will be available to purchase on the Fresh Cart for $8 and along with a few more surprises for you too! On the Fresh Cart there will be a wide range of local fruits & veggies as well as local, handmade pasta, ice cream & other tasty treats. Victory Gardens will be here too with veggie starts and invaluable gardening advice. Meet the FarmCity Coop Farmers and learn more about where your food comes with tours of Urban Digs Farm where you can meet our friendly farm animals & learn more about sustainable meat production and our neighbour & fellow Co-op member Earth Apple Farm, where they are growing a wide range of market vegetables. Steel and Oak Brewing will be here too with the most local beer in town brewed just 5km down the road from the farm!
