Free Spirit Returns with 50+ Non-Alcoholic Makers
Dry January may be on the horizon, but Vancouver’s alcohol-free scene is celebrating early. Free Spirit, the city’s largest tasting event dedicated to non-alcoholic wine, beer, spirits, and cocktails, returns to Heritage Hall on Monday, December 8, 2025 — and this year’s edition is its biggest yet.

Organized by acclaimed BC sommelier Kurtis Kolt, Free Spirit has quickly become a must-attend night for the sober-curious, zero-proof enthusiasts, and anyone looking for thoughtful, flavour-driven alternatives for the holiday season. Kolt notes that this upcoming event will feature double the number of producers compared to its first sold-out tasting held earlier this year.
Why Free Spirit Is a Must-Visit
“The drinks category enjoyed by those doing Dry January, the sober-curious, and the rest of us continues to grow,” says Kolt. “This event offers a chance to discover the perfect pour for holiday parties, cozy nights at home, alcohol-free months, and festive hostess gifts.”
With more than 50 producers from BC and around the world, attendees can explore a wide spectrum of innovative zero-proof beverages — all poured under one historic roof in Mount Pleasant.

What You’ll Taste
This year’s lineup spans sparkling wines, brewed alternatives, complex cocktails, and artisanal sodas. Highlights include:
-
Glimmer sparkling Chardonnay
