Vij’s on Cambie, Rangoli, My Shanti and Sutra Offer Pick Up
Update on Vij’s dining options. For the first time in the restaurant’s history, Vij’s on Cambie Street is now open for pickup/takeout and for delivery, courtesy of its own serving staff. As well, Rangoli in South Granville is offered curbside pickup of pre-ordered food, and My Shanti in South Surrey is giving 15% off phone orders for pickup. Both Rangoli and My Shanti are offering delivery via DoorDash. Vij’s Sutra, in the Victoria Public Market, maintains its offering of pickup and delivery foods (Uber Eats, DoorDash), as well as a freezer stocked with foods to prepare at home.
The COVID-19 situation has all restaurants in the Vij’s Group making adjustments to keep providing guests with the foods they love by temporarily suspending their dine-in options, while still maintaining a healthy distance from one another, and complying with federal and provincial health guidelines.
“We want to ensure as many of our staff can keep working as possible,” says co-owner of Vij’s and Rangoli, and owner of My Shanti, Vikram Vij. “Some of them requested that they become the delivery drivers, so we said, sure – because it means people who are isolating at home, can have some amazing Indian comfort food while they stay safe indoors.”
What it means for each restaurant:

“This is obviously a very unique time for everyone, and we’re all facing a lot of challenges,” says Meeru Dhalwala, co-owner of Vij’s and Rangoli. “What we wanted to do, was provide something familiar, something nutritious, and something accessible to everyone, and we hope people will enjoy it.”
