Vino Allegro Wine Agent – Stellar Wineries at Playhouse

Next week, Vancouver will once again welcome the world, this time for the Playhouse International Wine Festival and gold medal wine-ing.

Vino Allegro is delighted to present three outstanding international wineries from three distinct regions. In addition to continuing to feature Italy’s Cantina Breganze [Table no. 82 ].and Germany’s Schloss Reinhartshausen [Table no. 167]., Vino Allegro is proud to introduce Paritua Vineyards, Hawke’s Bay, from one of this year’s featured theme areas, New Zealand [Table no. 58].

Paritua Vineyards is a certified sustainable winery from the heart of New Zealand’s oldest wine-growing region of Hawkes Bay, and produces both a boutique Paritua label as well their Stone Paddock selection of wines. Trade and consumer tastings of the Stone Paddock wines will be featured at this year’s festival, starting with a Jolie Rosé that is wonderfully paired with this year’s global Festival theme of Rosé, a Chardonnay, and Scarlet a Bordeaux blend.

In addition, and for trade only, Vino Allegro will feature the robust and decadent Paritua Red – Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot dominant, blended with Cabernet Franc and Malbec, a small quantity of which is scheduled to arrive in early May.

After tasting some of Hawkes Bay’s acclaimed red blends, Neal Martin, writer for e-Robert Parker and The Wine Advocate, stated, “One forgets just how fine New Zealand’s Cabernet Sauvignon and Bordeaux blends can be, particularly in Hawkes Bay.”

Cantina Breganze, Veneto, Italy (http://www.cantinabreganze.it) is coming for the third time to the Festival and featuring the Prosecco Marzemino Rosato (soon to be re-named Rosa di Sera). Brought in as a BCLDB ‘one-time buy’ two years ago, this pink bubble is now a significant part of the Vino Allegro portfolio. Pinot Grigio Rosato will debut at the festival and is guaranteed to be a success!

Schloss Reinhartshausen, Erbach Rheingau, Germany (http://www.schloss-reinhartshausen.de) feature a selection of fine Rieslings, one of which will be poured by the German Wine Queen Sonja Christ at her table at the German Zest Fest event. With Reisling a growing category, this is sure to be a popular stop during the festival.
