Tasty Things to Do in Vancouver
On my Lyft ride home today, the rain pounded depressingly down as we drove by the Hotel Georgia. Far before Hawksworth, when the hotel housed Night Court, and the back bar was called Casablanca’s, I frequented these various watering holes, and they hold many memories. Suddenly I became sorrowful as I reminisced about the good old days when happy hour was still a thing. I deeply miss meeting my friends, and I crave the hospitality that restaurants provide. I also miss providing that hospitality myself as a food tour guide with Vancouver Food Tour. After the New Year’s Eve fiasco, with the liquor rules changing at the very last minute, forcing restaurants to scramble to make what they could of the night, restaurants need us now more than ever. If you can afford to grab some take out, please do, and if you feel comfortable dining in, there’s so many places playing it super safe. Mask up, grab your hand sanitizer and carefully dine out to support those places you want to see make it through this horrendous time. 10,000 restaurants in Canada closed last year, let’s try to keep that number from climbing. Here’s some suggestions for you and your bubble.
