BC Ale Trail Launches Five Tasting Passports Throughout Metro Vancouver
Looking for an excuse to get out and try some great BC craft beer? During February beer lovers can collect stamps at up to sixty-four participating businesses for a chance to win fabulous prize packages along the BC Ale Trail in conjunction with Dine the Line.
Dine the Line, is encouraging residents and visitors to get out and explore car-free while supporting local businesses during the month of February by participating in Tasting Passport programs running in five different Metro Vancouver regions:
North of the Fraser Ale Trail – 11 locations in Burnaby, Coquitlam, New Westminster, and Port Coquitlam
Port Moody Ale Trail – all six breweries located on Murray Street, AKA “Brewers Row”
South of the Fraser Ale Trail – 14 locations in Delta, Richmond, Surrey, and White Rock
Vancouver Brewery Creek Ale Trail – 15 locations in Vancouver from Main Street/Mt Pleasant west to Granville Island
Yeast Vancouver Ale Trail – 18 locations in East Vancouver
Beginning February 1, beer lovers can pick up a Tasting Passport from any of the 64 participating businesses and embark on a local tasting tour, collecting stamps with a purchase. Folks choosing not to consume alcohol can also participate by purchasing swag, food and/or non-alcoholic drinks. After earning six unique stamps, drop off the completed ballot at a participating business to enter to win a brilliant beer-themed Staycation prize package. Multiple entries are encouraged.
Each individual region has its own list of participating locations — mainly breweries, but also in some cases, distilleries, tap houses, and private liquor stores — and each passport has its own Staycation prize package, which includes a 1- or 2-night stay, activities, and gift cards to spend on beer and meals, which one lucky entrant will win in each region. There will also be secondary prize draws, including merchandise and gift cards from participating businesses.
Ride Transit for the TransLink bonus
TransLink, in partnership with West Coast Food, created Dine the Line to encourage visitors to explore Metro Vancouver restaurants, breweries, events and culinary experiences sustainably car-free. The program features restaurants and craft breweries in neighbourhoods throughout Metro Vancouver.
The Tasting Passport campaigns are encouraging everyone to ride transit as they explore Metro Vancouver ale trails to collect stamps. West Coast Food has created specialized Dine the Line transit itineraries to help everyone navigate their way to the Tasting Passport locations, which can be found by following the QR code on the passports or visiting the Dine the Line website: westcoastfood.ca/dinetheline
All five of the Tasting Passports also feature a special TransLink Bonus square. Show your Compass Card or a receipt for a TransLink ride from the same day to get a stamp in the TransLink Bonus space. This will earn you a chance to win a one-month TransLink pass and a BC Ale Trail prize pack.

The BC Ale Trail and all the businesses participating in these promotions are committed to ensuring that beer is enjoyed responsibly by those adults who choose to consume it. No one should drink alcohol, even in moderation, before operating a motor vehicle or engaging in other activities that involve attention and skill or physical risk. We encourage everyone to take transit as they visit the participating businesses.
