Regional Qualifier for The Canadian Culinary Championships, Canada’s Great Kitchen Party
Vancouver’s chefs are gearing up for the hottest Culinary Competition in the country, Canada’s Great Kitchen Party Vancouver, which will also raise funds to provide Canadian youth the opportunity to be extraordinary in sport, music, and food. Over 17 million dollars has been raised over the past 16 years. Karen Blair, Co-Founder of Canada’s Great Kitchen Party speaks of the organization’s contributions to a variety of charities.

The Great Kitchen Party in Vancouver will be the last to be held among the nine competing cities, from St. John’s, NL to Vancouver, BC. Each region’s winning chef will qualify for the Canadian Culinary Championship in Ottawa, February 3-4, 2022. At the last in-person event and competition, chef Roger Ma of Boulevard Kitchen and Oyster Bar, took home the gold medal, not just at Vancouver’s Kitchen Party event in the fall of 2019, but also at the grand finale competition in Ottawa back in January 2020.
“With Roger Ma being the reigning Canadian Culinary Champion, we know that Vancouver’s chefs are eager to take the top spot on the podium this November and compete to hold on to the title of Canadian Culinary Champion next January in our nation’s capital” said Vancouver Co-Chairs Bryce Davis and Eva Tone of MNP, new presenting sponsor for the project. Added Nancy MacKay, Vancouver Co-Chair, “With events not taking place in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic, the appetite is high for Kitchen Party competitions, and we are thrilled to be back this fall with in-person events across the country.” Over 100 chefs from nine regions will compete amongst the best in the country, with the title of Canadian Culinary Champion on the line.
The Chef Competition is only one exciting aspect of this one-of-a-kind celebration. Vancouver’s Kitchen Party will include an extensive Silent Auction and of course Canada’s Great Kitchen Party’s renowned Live Auction trips to exotic and exciting destinations. Each year, over 600 Canadians from across the country purchase travel experiences at Kitchen Party Live Auctions. Kitchen Party trips are once-in-a-life-time experiences where guests experience great food, wine, entertainment, and activity – whether it be enjoying the cuisine in beautiful Verona, cycling, hiking and wine tours in Malaga Spain or mounting biking and cooking classes in Vietnam – with iconic Canadian musicians, Canadian athletes and Canadian chefs.
