– Picture this – five beautifully set tables, five star-chefs preparing five different three-course dinners, beautiful wines from Vista D’Oro and gracious hosts. Guess who’s coming to dinner? Why you are of course! That is if you snap up tickets for Growing Chef’s Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner fundraiser dinners on one night – Saturday, April 14, 2012.

While not a board game like ‘Clue,’ Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner? is a secret – a secret supper featuring simultaneous dinner parties hosted in elegant private homes and prepared by some of Vancouver’s most exciting chefs – Andrea Carlson (formerly of Bishop’s), Jane Cornborough (Campagnolo Restaurants), Boneta’s Jason Leizert, Ann Kirsebom of Chef Ann’s Gourmet Sauces and Che Baba’s Geoff Van Hassel. Each intimate dinner party consists of a themed, three-course dinner in a secret location. At the end of the evening, all the guests will convene for the Dessert and Champagne Finale created by Wendy Boys of Cocolico at a central location to share stories and compare menu notes.

Guests pick their three favourite themes from the list of five, and shortly before the event, Growing Chefs will inform them of their host and location details.

Tickets for the full evening are priced at $129 per person. There are also a limited number available for the Dessert Finale only at $29. Both are available on-line through Eventbrite at http://growingchefsguesswho.eventbrite.com/

While you may not have a clue who your fellow tablemates may be, it’s no mystery that you’ll have a wonderful evening at Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner? And you never know… you might find yourself seated next to Colonel Mustard!

Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner? is a fundraiser for Growing Chefs! – a non-profit society that teaches elementary school children about food and urban agriculture by placing volunteer chefs in school classrooms. The chefs help students plant windowsill gardens, then return to help care for the gardens while leading the students through fun lessons about vegetables, cooking, sustainability, and healthy eating.

The Finale: Drinks and dessert with guests from every dinner will follow at a secret location. Guests can share their experiences, see photos from the various dinners, and enjoy a delicious dessert. There are also a few tickets available to the Finale only. Wine provided by Misconduct Wine Co.
