Long Beach Nature Tours, the expert outfitters for affordable, custom walking tours of Vancouver Island’s west coast near the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve of Tofino, now offers guests an expanded tour menu with a focus on rainforest ecology, and a new website.

Signature Tours, including the popular Storm Seeker from November through March, are now complemented by mix-and-match options for half or full-day custom tours.  Since its launch in 1996, Long Beach Nature Tours has been the “natural” choice for visitors seeking more of a personal connection to beauty and the ecological diversity of Vancouver Island’s west coast.  A roster of engaging naturalists, all experienced interpreters within the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve nearby,  lead visitors on walks including the Intertidal Exploration, and Headlands, Beaches & You – a paradise of photogenic discoveries for explorers of all levels.  Guides from Long Beach Nature Tours also lead the complimentary Saturday nature walk for guests of the Wickaninnish Inn.

The outfitter’s new website features an Ask Bill! page, where veteran naturalist  Bill McIntyre, founder of Long Beach Nature Tours, answers questions like “What is a rainforest?” and “What kinds of shells can you find here?”  A colourful photo gallery features images from McIntyre’s personal collection, while the upgraded variety of tour options is outlined and can be reserved online.
