What’s Happening in Vancouver
It’s another week without holiday parties and the usual outings that I do so enjoy. However, I did go sort of away with a staycation at the Marriott, and I’m making the most of my cookbook collection! Here’s a few things to do around town this week to keep on keeping on. Stay safe and warm.
November 26 In My Kitchen Middle Eastern Version Fatima: Cocktails and Mezes
Cook along with Fatima and In My Kitchen via Zoom. Register Not your typical charcuterie or appetizer platters, nor are these the kind of cocktails we are seeing trending on social right now. This is a creative and modern way to taste and learn about traditional Middle Eastern ingredients.
In these Mixing and Mezes culinary adventures, you will create the following drinks and small plates and learn how the different flavours can mix in a fun and creative way.
Mixing:
Blueberry rose water mimosa (non-alcoholic option available) Cinnamon Saffron Sangria (non-alcoholic option available)
Mezes:
Grape leaf, pecan stuffed figs
Pistachio, cardamom, goat cheese bruschetta
Tahini, date and cashew puff pastry pide (Turkish bread)
Roasted garlic, spinach, balsamic borek (light savoury pie)
Grape, pomegranate, zaatar, feta salad
Your Italian Christmas Menu with Chef Alessandro
Participants who have purchased a Sorpresa! mystery box will find a key ingredient for the recipe in the box and will receive a preview of the recipe before the event, so that they can interactively participate in the event and create their recipe at home, following Chef Alessandro’s live advice.

Good Wine Gal’s Wine Sessions – Amen Bro! It’s Red Burgundy
“Amen Brother – It’s Burgundy” pays tribute to the region’s history where many of the vineyards were planted and the wines were kept by Cistercians monks, and convent sisters. This online wine class comprised of a comprehensive educational presentation followed by an interactive tasting component focusing on the key grapes and wine appellations of Burgundy.
