Floral Installations Created By Vancouver’s Top Florists
We strolled the streets and were blown away by the creativity florists exhibited when creating these brilliant displays. Look out for the Fleurs de Villes Noel next year. We hope they’ll be back!
Fleurs de Villes Noël was presented by National Bank and supported by the Downtown Vancouver Business Improvement Association (DVBIA). From December 6 – 15, eleven of Vancouver’s leading florists, including The Flower Factory, Garlands Florist, Niche Boutique Florals, Arbutus Florist and more paired with Alberni Street retailers and businesses to create twenty unique pop-up floral installations, creating a Floral Trail throughout the Alberni corridor.
Visitors picked up a free Fleurs de Villes Noël map at the concierge desk at Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, and began the Floral Trail with four installations including the ‘Lady in Red’ fresh-floral mannequin, inspired by the infamous ghost who is believed to wander the top floors of the hotel in her elegant red gown. After a visit to the floral swing outside, the Floral Trail continued two blocks west down Alberni Street, with highlights including spectacular floral archways and storefronts at Panerai, 1028 Alberni, National Bank Private Banking 1859, Thierry and Oliver Peoples.
A flower-bombed Bentley was featured on the corner of Thurlow and Alberni at the QuadReal building, and a stunning Porsche on the Peterson managed Shangri-La property, both in partnership with the Dilawri Group, plus floral surprises at 1166 Alberni (Peterson), Carmana Plaza Hotel and more stunning fresh-floral mannequins found inside QuadReal and Urban Fare.
Called ‘Floral Disruptors’, this exhibit presented floral art in a unique way and is open to all. Fleurs de Villes Noël Alberni Street marked the last stop of the Fleurs de Villes’ 2019 international tour following shows in London, England at Covent Garden, the RHS Chelsea Flower Show’s Jardin Blanc, Québec, Toronto, British Columbia, Chicago, Southern California and New York City.
